About The Position

LifeLong’s Recuperative Care program (Arnold’s Place) is a 50-bed 24/7 residential setting that provides onsite care for patients with complex medical, behavioral, and social needs. Patients receive ongoing medical and behavioral health services, care coordination, meals, and daily supports, along with connections to housing and community resources. The Site Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive residential environment for participants in this recuperative care setting. This role ensures facility safety and security, supports daily operations, and provides direct, non-clinical assistance to patients, including crisis response and engagement. The Site Monitor works collaboratively with program staff to uphold policies, promote resident well-being, and ensure a respectful and welcoming environment for individuals experiencing homelessness and complex health needs. We are recruiting to fill multiple positions and will consider any availability (full time, part-time, day, swing, evening, and weekend). Available shift hours (Monday - Sunday): Day: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Swing: 4:00 pm - 12:30 am Overnight: 12:00 am - 8:30 am This position is represented by SEIU-UHW. Salaries and benefits are set by a collective bargaining agreement (CBA), and an employee in this position must remain a member in good standing of SEIU-UHW, as defined in the CBA.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and ability to be flexible and adaptive to change.
  • Ability to seek direction/approval from supervisor on essential matters, yet work independently with little onsite supervision, using professional judgment and diplomacy.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment with a number of professionals with different work styles and support needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills and ability to effectively work with people from diverse backgrounds and be culturally sensitive.
  • Ability to see how one’s work intersects with that of other departments of LifeLong Medical Care, including EBCRP, and that of other partner organizations.
  • Make appropriate use of knowledge/ expertise/ in crisis situations when dealing with patients and other staff.
  • Ability to remain calm, act quickly, and provide appropriate assistance in crisis situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, reliable, committed and flexible to cover additional shifts as needed.
  • Ability to relate to clients in a welcoming, warm and empathetic manner
  • Good writing and computer skills
  • CPR/First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain training
  • Qualified to drive agency vehicle

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 1 years as a facility monitor in a residential setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Remain alert and respond to the needs of the residents, providing a safe and welcoming living environment.
  • Help ensure the safety of residents by monitoring camera’s and intercoms at regular time intervals throughout the shift.
  • Ensure the established structure is followed during the shift.
  • Assist residents as needed throughout the shift, including responding to crises.
  • Maintain the daily log of events during the shift.
  • For the overnight shift, prepare the breakfast areas, set the tables and follow breakfast preparation instructions given by the Food Service Manager.
  • Assist in waking the residents as needed.
  • Responsible for securing the facility and monitoring building access.
  • Participate in training and staff meetings as directed.
  • Professional conduct and professional code of ethics is required to ensure residents’ confidentiality and safety.
  • Document appropriately in the staff log recording significant incidents and activities.
  • Participate in Shift Change Meetings.
  • Contact the appropriate respite staff in case of emergency, as well as assisting in an emergency e.g. law enforcement, fire and medical response.
  • Assist in the maintenance and up-keep of the residential facility as needed.
  • Ability to work with a respectful and welcoming attitude of patients who may have substance use, mental health, or criminal justice issues.
  • Conduct facility checks during shift, (i.e., walk through and securing of the facility, and perform room checks as indicated.
  • Follow policies and procedures of both Lifelong-EBCRP and the medical respite facility
  • Other duties as assigned.
