About The Position
AltaMed is seeking a passionate individual to join as a Site Medical Director-PACE. This role is crucial for individuals dedicated to helping those in need and advancing their careers within a supportive environment. AltaMed, as the nation's largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is committed to delivering affordable, high-quality healthcare to underserved communities in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. The Site Medical Director-PACE holds overall responsibility for clinical patient care at the assigned PACE site(s), addressing clinical, programmatic, medical, and administrative issues in collaboration with the Clinic Administrator and Nurse Administrator. This position involves active participation in the Interdisciplinary Team and directing medical care decisions, contributing to AltaMed's mission of providing exceptional care to over 400,000 patients.
Requirements
- Physician with an active, unrestrictive CA license to practice medicine by the Medical Board of California
- DEA License required
- Previous experience with computer-based systems is required
- Education, training, and experience are necessary to meet the underwritten requirements for inclusion under AltaMed’s malpractice insurance coverage
- A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in a leadership or management role is strongly preferred
- Electronic Medical Records experience is preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese preferred, depending on location
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the clinical patient care at the PACE site(s) he/she is delegated to oversee
- Addresses clinical, programmatic, medical, and administrative issues at the site in collaboration with the Clinic Administrator and Nurse Administrator
- Actively participates in the Interdisciplinary Team
- Directs the medical care decisions
