About The Position

Using a people-first approach, the Site Manager leads greenhouse operations to achieve peak productivity, profitability, and plant quality, driving performance aligned with company objectives and other growing sites. The Site Manager pursues continuous improvement by proactively optimizing processes, resource allocation, and data-driven strategies to enhance plant yields, control costs, and maintain the highest quality standards. The Site Manager takes ownership of the site's overall success by empowering and developing a high-performing team through training, mentorship, and clear KPIs, while fostering a results-driven culture rooted in innovation, accountability, and collaboration. Working collaboratively with all Rainbow managers, the Site Manager provides key insights that inform leadership decisions and contribute to long-term business growth. This role leads a team that includes the Production Line Supervisor, Greenhouse Supervisor, Fulfillment Supervisor, Inventory, and Administrative Assistant.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team to achieve operational excellence
  • Bachelor's degree in horticulture, agriculture, manufacturing, or a relevant field
  • Proven experience in greenhouse management or a similar operations management role
  • Strong knowledge of plant cultivation, irrigation, and pest control
  • Excellent organizational and managerial skills
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Spanish is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily greenhouse operations, ensuring all activities are planned, organized, and executed efficiently to maximize productivity and output
  • Empower and develop a high-performing team through targeted training, hands-on mentorship, and personalized coaching, creating clear pathways for career growth
  • Cultivate a high-performance culture rooted in innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
  • Set and uphold clear performance standards, conducting regular evaluations and providing timely, constructive feedback
  • Collaborate closely with the Growing team to fine-tune plant growth conditions, driving higher yields and healthier plants
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving processes with Rainbow HQ to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and quality in product movements
  • Strategically optimize greenhouse resources — labour, supplies, and equipment — to ensure seamless daily operations
  • Drive cost efficiency by monitoring expenses, controlling operational costs, and maintaining alignment with budget targets
  • Gather and analyze key performance data on plant growth, yields, and resource utilization to uncover trends and improvement opportunities
  • Partner with the VP of Horticulture and fellow Site Managers to design and implement robust quality control measures (KPIs)
  • Identify and lead process improvement, cost saving, and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Enforce and uphold safety, environmental, and health standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and codes
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports on KPIs, production metrics, and financial results to inform leadership decision-making
