About The Position

Pure Flavor Farms LP is seeking a Greenhouse Labour Supervisor to support the Grower and Assistant Grower in monitoring and maintaining the efficient flow of greenhouse labour performance. This role prioritizes safety, efficiency, and communication, and involves training, motivating, supervising, and coordinating the greenhouse labour team's activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience, required.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a commercial greenhouse environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish, required.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; numeracy skills, required.
  • Proven ability to detect plant diseases and the existence of insects.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP and the PrimusGFS program.
  • Computer Skills required; Microsoft (MS) Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Must be flexible to shift assignments as required to meet both crop and customer needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary diploma or bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture or related field, preferred.
  • Experience with PRIVA FS Performance Labour & Crop Management platform is preferred.
  • Experience with comparable platforms considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for greenhouse labour team results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures to meet productivity goals and quality standards.
  • Ensure accurate and timely labour data entry by all employees, including contractors and temps.
  • Correct or adjust incorrect or missed labour data entries in real time.
  • Document absences, late arrivals, early departures, and midday appointments daily and communicate them to the team.
  • Identify and communicate employee data entry errors, missing data trends, and concerns with tools, equipment, and processes.
  • Support growing and packhouse operations by monitoring workflow, control points, and equipment.
  • Monitor employee and other resources, review methods, recommend cost improvement plans, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to hygiene protocols, GMPs, Health and Safety Guidelines, Food Safety Guidelines, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with the Grower and Assistant Grower to coach workers and deliver corrective counseling.
  • Resolve employee complaints and concerns in collaboration with the Grower and General Manager.
  • Initiate and foster a spirit of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Review equipment maintenance schedules, arrange repairs, and evaluate new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and recommending best practices.
  • Other core expectations as defined by the company.
