About The Position

The Site Manager for the Orange, Bathurst & Cowra Research Stations plays a pivotal role in shaping the success of DPIRD’s research programs. You’ll lead the day‑to‑day management of the station’s agricultural infrastructure, resources and production systems, ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently and to a high commercial and research standard. Working closely with site leaders, DPIRD researchers and commercial partners, you’ll oversee operations that support crops, pastures and livestock and building/site management while balancing the needs of research excellence with best practice agricultural production. This is a hands‑on leadership role where your decisions directly influence research outcomes, commercial performance and the long-term sustainability of the site. To support the operational nature of the role, on‑site accommodation is provided at a significantly subsidised rent, giving you the convenience of living close to the station’s daily activity and seasonal demands. The Research Stations are a dynamic, multi‑agency agricultural research hub where innovation meets practical, real‑world farming. Our sites support a diverse range of DPIRD research programs, commercial activities and collaborative projects with industry partners.
