About The Position

The site maintenance associate is responsible for the daily maintenance of the recycling yard. They ensure the yard is neat, clean, and safe for both customers and employees. This role requires the ability to work independently and be a self-starter, possessing the drive to lead and act without continuous direction.

Requirements

  • Comfortable working with tools.
  • General understanding of outdoor maintenance.
  • Ability to operate a gator and lawn mower.
  • Ability to direct customers around the yard.
  • Ability to pay close attention to what is going on around them at all times.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as safety guidelines, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must have access to a vehicle as public transportation is unavailable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the yard by picking up debris, landscaping in the front tipping wall area, grass cutting, painting, sweeping the tipping area, and running the magnet around the yard to pick up metal pieces or nails.
  • Operate a gator and lawn mower.
  • Maintain city roadways.
  • Assist maintenance personnel in corrective repairs as needed.
  • Cover breaks and sick days for other roles, including acting as a greeter.
  • Maintain a professional, friendly, and polite attitude towards all customers.
  • Direct customers around the yard and be aware of their location and drop-off points.
  • Enforce safety rules and pay constant attention to customers and surroundings.
  • Fill out yard maintenance forms neatly and clearly.
