About The Position

Shoreline Container is seeking an experienced Site IT Support Specialist for their Holland, MI location. This full-time role involves providing IT support within a manufacturing environment, including help desk activities, PC and peripheral setup, inventory management, and assisting with network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a customer-friendly attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team. This role will collaborate with central infrastructure and security teams, as well as assist the Network Administrator with networking equipment. The position also involves strategic planning, project management, and IT/OT site administration. Responsibilities include developing site support SMEs, establishing training programs, managing business continuity plans, and driving continuous improvement through technology innovation. Project management duties include planning, monitoring, and controlling IT & OT projects, focusing on milestones, deliverables, budgets, and stakeholder relationships. The role requires identifying issues, presenting solutions, and developing progress reports. The IT/OT Site Administrator will support two facilities located 7 miles apart and requires on-site work with emergency call-in availability for a 24-hour production environment. The role involves physical tasks such as operating computer equipment and lifting up to 40 lbs. Some travel may be required for offsite integration efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in business, IT or similar discipline, or commensurate equivalent work experience in a technology field.
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, follow up, documentation preparation and maintenance skills, and customer service orientation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience within, or supporting, a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and networking protocols.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, networking, and system administration.
  • Experience with both IT and OT/Process Control environments.
  • Extensive application support experience with MS Office.
  • Familiarity with the fundamental principles of ITIL.
  • Experience with system backup and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required.
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with help desk activities by responding to tickets, troubleshooting problems, and working with end-users to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Assist with setup and installation of PCs, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
  • Keep hardware and software inventories up to date.
  • Work with central infrastructure and security teams to resolve issues and address site problems.
  • Assist the Network Administrator in planning, setup, and installation of networking equipment.
  • Leverage technical skills to resolve tickets and problems escalated within the site.
  • Determine the root cause of problems and eliminate those barriers to success.
  • Work with end users to ensure proper training.
  • Document all systems, SMEs, and system connectivity to ensure support success.
  • Maintain support agreements on pertinent technologies within the site and maintain that support to minimize technological impacts on the business.
  • Work with Enterprise Security to mitigate site-specific opportunities.
  • Develop site support SMEs and establish comprehensive training programs.
  • Alert management to emerging trends in incidents.
  • Work with business process owners to develop and maintain site Business Continuity Plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement at the site through technology innovation and process optimization.
  • Use experience to drive projects and initiatives that provide tangible business value.
  • Help manage (plan, monitor, and control) IT & OT projects, with a focus on milestones/deadlines, deliverables, budgets, resources, and key stakeholder relationships.
  • Meet regularly with management and production staff to identify issues and concerns.
  • Identify opportunities and present possible solutions for improved efficiencies with a comprehensive plan including project scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables, TCO & ROIC.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Support two facilities (Holland & Zeeland) 7 miles apart.
  • Be available for emergency call-in for a 24-hour production environment.
