About The Position

The Site IT Manager is responsible for providing hands-on IT leadership and operational support for Microporous' manufacturing facility in Piney Flats, Tennessee. This role serves as the primary on-site technology resource, overseeing infrastructure, cybersecurity, end-user support, manufacturing systems support, IT asset management, vendor coordination, and local project execution. The ideal candidate is a highly technical and customer-focused IT professional who can balance strategic planning with daily operational responsibilities. This position requires strong expertise in networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, help desk, and Microsoft 365.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive IT support and administration experience.
  • 3+ years supporting manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting 24/7 operations.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Windows Server environments.
  • Experience managing network infrastructure and cybersecurity tools.
  • Experience supporting ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with business leaders and operational teams.
  • Hands-on, service-oriented mindset with a willingness to support all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the site's network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VLANs, VPN connectivity, and internet circuits.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity, and troubleshoot network outages and connectivity issues.
  • Manage relationships with telecommunications and infrastructure vendors and support WAN connectivity.
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and inventory records.
  • Administer Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
  • Support virtualization platforms such as VMware and manage backup and disaster recovery systems.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Maintain server and workstation patching schedules.
  • Serve as the local cybersecurity lead, monitor endpoint protection, EDR/XDR, and security alerts.
  • Conduct vulnerability remediation activities and ensure compliance with company security policies.
  • Support incident response investigations and remediation, manage user access reviews and privileged access controls.
  • Participate in security awareness training programs and assist with audit readiness efforts.
  • Support production-related technology systems and equipment, coordinating with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
  • Support shop floor devices including Industrial PCs, barcode scanners, label printers, wireless devices, and production terminals.
  • Assist with ERP, MES, WMS, and manufacturing application support, and partner with OT vendors and engineering teams.
  • Resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues for end-users and manage ticket queues.
  • Install, configure, and deploy end-user equipment, and maintain IT asset inventory and lifecycle management.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation and knowledge articles, and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Manage onboarding, transfers, and offboarding processes, including provisioning and deprovisioning user accounts, email, security groups, application access, and MFA enrollment.
  • Maintain least-privilege access principles, perform periodic access certification reviews, and ensure accurate user and role documentation.
  • Coordinate local IT vendors and service providers, assist with budgeting and procurement activities.
  • Support corporate IT initiatives and deployments, and lead local technology projects from planning through execution.
  • Participate in ERP implementation, upgrades, and technology rollouts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for systems, networks, applications, processes, and recovery procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement, and develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
