About The Position

The Facilities Team Lead is responsible and accountable for the performance of the employees assigned to their team, scheduling and assigning work within the team and supervising the group for accurate and timely completion of the work. This role involves employee development and management, resource development and management, and daily facility support. The ideal candidate will display a positive attitude and strong work ethic, create and maintain a culture of workplace safety, and strive for continuous improvement. The position is subject to call-in during off-shift and weekends as needed and acts as a key member of the facility emergency response team. Application of lean manufacturing concepts and 5S is expected, along with carrying out special projects and other duties as assigned by Department management. The role also focuses on maintaining and enhancing the reliability and maintainability of the overall facility and taking the lead on Maintenance Projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, fabricate multiple pieces of equipment with competing priorities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair building automation systems and controls.
  • Must be a leader, able to attain sufficient task success, to establish credibility with management, staff and employees.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondences, and memos.
  • Ability to manage projects with competing priorities.
  • Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to perform successfully under minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to travel to remote sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred minimum of 10 years of experience in the Industrial Maintenance field.
  • Have or obtain certification for lift truck, scissors lift and other service and maintenance equipment.
  • Experience with industrial maintenance, electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Employee development and management, including recruiting, selecting new staff, providing leadership and technical guidance, and personal performance planning.
  • Provide technical guidance and maintenance solutions for facility-related problems.
  • Resource development and management, including developing and qualifying new supplier resources and establishing and monitoring budgetary requirements for supplier resources.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance requirements on machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Develop preventative and predictive maintenance systems to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Perform hook-up of electrical distribution, transformer connections, and motor controls.
  • Perform all aspects of electrical installation including running of conduit, sizing of conductors, and grounding.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Provide mechanical and electrical maintenance information.
  • Maintain a safe and clean building, recognizing and rectifying potential unsafe conditions.
  • Identify and strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of job performance, education, processes, procedures, and methods.
  • Act as a key member of the facility emergency response team.
  • Apply lean manufacturing concepts and 5S.
  • Carry out special projects and other additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain and enhance the reliability and maintainability of the overall facility.
  • Take the lead on Maintenance Projects as needed.
  • Accountable for the performance and professional development of the team members.
  • On occasion may supervise contracted services provider or individuals on a specific technical assignment.
