Site Expert - Rubbing the Rock (Clemson Tigers)
About The Position
FanSided is seeking a Site Expert for Rubbing the Rock, a site dedicated to the Clemson Tigers. Site Experts are responsible for fostering a strong community, producing original daily content, and establishing themselves as the foremost authority on their respective fandom. The role involves a blend of news reporting and insightful analysis, with an emphasis on providing unique content not found elsewhere. While FanSided offers support and guidance, the Site Expert will strategize content efforts, potentially with a co-expert. Compensation is performance-based, tied to article and site traffic. Site Experts must ensure a minimum of 50 articles are published monthly, with the Site Expert personally writing 20-30 articles. Responsibilities include editing contributor articles, providing feedback, suggesting topics, and managing the site's social media accounts (Twitter and Facebook) by sharing content and engaging with fans. FanSided is a rapidly expanding digital media network with a focus on fan-driven content across sports, entertainment, and lifestyle, offering opportunities for both experienced writers and newcomers to digital media.
Requirements
- Knowledgeable about the Clemson Tigers fandom.
- Ability to write original content.
- Ability to provide news and opinionated analysis.
- Ability to edit articles.
- Ability to provide feedback.
- Ability to suggest topic ideas.
- Experience with social media accounts (typically Twitter and Facebook).
- Independent contractor status.

Responsibilities

- Provide readers with fresh daily content.
- Be viewed as the most knowledgeable on the Clemson Tigers fandom.
- Offer readers a healthy mix of news and opinionated analysis.
- Provide content that readers can't read elsewhere.
- Strategize content efforts.
- Publish a minimum of 50 total articles each calendar month.
- Personally write a minimum of 20 articles each month, with most writing between 25-30.
- Support contributors by editing their articles.
- Offer feedback to contributors as needed.
- Suggest topic ideas to contributors.
- Help with the site’s social media accounts (typically Twitter and Facebook) by sharing articles.
- Creatively engage with other fans on social media.
