About The Position

Directs and manages the overall daily operations of a Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois Satellite Site. The primary focus is on program and service delivery, site budget management, supervision and training of staff, participant administration, implementation of evaluation methods, and community relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, or related field.
  • A minimum of three years work experience in youth development, planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability in budgetary management.
  • Demonstrated ability in facilities management.
  • Ability to work with all site constituents.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to drive motor vehicle preferred (with valid IL drivers license).

Responsibilities

  • Supervises overall site operations, compiling and overseeing statistical reports on activities, attendance, program participation, expenditures, and parental involvement.
  • Oversees the maintenance of the participant tracking system for accurate reporting.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates overall site programs, preparing schedules and assisting in the development and monitoring of annual program objectives.
  • Ensures the site carries out Boys & Girls Club policies and operational standards.
  • Plans and directs program implementation with assistance from site staff and volunteers.
  • Recruits, trains, directs, motivates, evaluates, and supervises site staff and volunteers.
  • Makes recommendations for promotions and job description changes.
  • Ensures staff adherence to Boys & Girls Club policies and operational standards.
  • Fulfills delegated administrative functions in a timely and comprehensive manner.
  • Assists in the development of the site's annual budget and manages operations within the approved budget.
  • Exercises authority in guidance and discipline issues of site participants, ensuring staff adherence to policies and involving parents.
  • Promotes and stimulates cooperative relationships and interest in site activities within the community, representing the site and interpreting its objectives.
  • Assists in setting site policies to uphold the organization's mission.
  • Promotes enrollment in the site by establishing relationships with school administration, teachers, guidance counselors, and other community leaders.
  • Oversees the appropriate use of physical property and equipment, making recommendations for maintenance and purchases.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety of designated property and equipment.
  • Develops and implements plans for participant recruitment, retention, and participation.
  • Develops and implements opportunities for participants to engage in outside educational, recreational, and leadership programs.
  • Involves parents in their child's activities at the site.
  • Maintains regular communication with parents regarding schedules, activities, discipline, and their child's progress.
  • Promotes and assists in linking community resources to participants and their families.
  • Promotes participants' involvement in the Boys & Girls Club and educates them on available program options.
  • Purchases or approves the purchase of supplies and equipment within budget and policy guidelines.
  • Assists with planning and implementation of Boys & Girls Club events and activities involving satellite site participants.
  • Works with staff to carry out programs in coordination with other satellite sites or the Boys & Girls Club Central Unit.
  • Drives Club vehicles as needed for member transportation and errands.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.
