About The Position

Under the supervision and direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Site Director plans activities, oversees recreation leaders, activities, and oversees all functions of the Before/After School site. The H-F Park District’s mission statement is “to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment”.

Requirements

  • Possess leadership/supervisory abilities.
  • Possess public relation skills.
  • Ability to organize, plan and implement various recreational and educational activities.
  • High School graduate.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Two years of formal work experience working with children.
  • CPR/AED Certification or the willingness to become certified.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
  • Manage, plan, direct, implement, and evaluate camp programs and activities.
  • Plan, direct and participate in camp activities including arts and crafts, games, sports, and nature activities.
  • Guide, direct, evaluate and motivate camp staff.
  • Guide, direct and motivate campers.
  • Provide a safe environment for all staff and campers.
  • Be cordial and courteous to the public.
  • Inform Recreation Supervisor of all camp happenings.
  • Maintain record keeping including attendance, accident, emergency forms, and weekly/monthly calendars.
  • Conduct campsite staff meetings.
  • Attend all staff meetings (site director, campsite, and camp-wide).
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the staff manuals and trainings.
  • Other related job duties as assigned.
