Responsible for providing leadership to teaching staff, implementing activities to ensure achievement of curriculum, child outcomes, and maintenancence of national Association for the Education of Young Children accreditation, compliance with state licensing requirements. Qualifications Education: Master's, Bachelor's, or Associate's in: Preferred degree: interdisciplinary early childhood education, early childhood special education, early childhood education, early childhood development, elementary education, childcare assistant, child development services, human sciences, individual and family studies. Related Degree: psychology, sociology, art therapy, child life, elementary education, nursing, speech therapy, counseling, human services, human services administration or program administration, nursery school teacher, university or general studies with emphasis in early childhood, physical therapy, occupational therapy. Knowledge, Skills, experience, education, abilities: a. Prep Academy Site Director I: MA plus IECE certification Prep Academy Site Director II: BA plus IECE certification; MA in a related degree with equivalent coursework. Prep Academy Site Director III: BA in preferred field Prep Academy Site Director IV: AA in ECE plus five (5) years of experience. Two (2) years of related experience in a preschool setting. Experience as a supervisor is required. Experience in early childhood classroom management, planning curriculum and record-keeping is required. Experience working with children with disabilities is highly desired. Knowledge of licensing regulations, Head Start Program Performance Standards and NAEYC accreditation. Bilingual English/Spanish may be required in communities or neighborhoods with a high concentration of Hispanic families. Working knowledge of computers.
