About The Position

The Site Dental Director provides clinical oversight to the direct services and direct care staff regarding clinical policies and procedures. Provides direct supervision to Mid-level Practitioner and Residents; serves as a mentor and provides clinical support to members of the Dental Team. Provides diagnosis and treatment to patients in a manner consistent with the Dental license, specialty, and level of experience. This position may oversee the Dental Residency program.

Requirements

  • DDS or DMD from an accredited Dental School
  • If Limited Licensed must have a min. of 2 yrs. AEGD or GPR successfully completed residency program.
  • Licensed in Massachusetts to practice Dentistry.
  • Minimum of three years professional experience
  • CPR certified or equivalent
  • Physical requirements include near visual acuity to observe changes in health/illness status of patients.
  • Manual skills required include good eye and hand coordination in combination with finger dexterity for administration of injections, treatments, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Public Health experience preferred.

  • Awareness of resources available within the health center to accommodate the needs of patients.
  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population.
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed conditions.
  • Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  • Directs and coordinates the patient care activities.
  • Performs quarterly chart audits.
  • Completes staff reviews.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Works closely with Director of Dental Operations.
  • Responsible for training and orientation of all Dentists and Hygienists.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals in area of expertise.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Management Team
