Essential Duties and Major responsibilities: DENTIST â Provide direct service to patients â Ensure that DPH, OSHA and Dental Association regulations are strictly followed. â Comply with departmental protocols â Meet productivity standards â Provide general dentistry â Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of dental care. â Commitment to providing dental care to families in a medically under-served community. â Willingness to be flexible in the development of new methods of dental services delivery. â Ability to deal with sensitive information in a highly confidential manner. â Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, co-workers, health care professionals, funders, and other regulatory agencies. â Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. â Awareness of resources available within the health center to accommodate the needs of patients. â Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population. â Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed conditions. â Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate. â Directs and coordinates the patient care activities. â Performs quarterly chart audits. â Completes staff reviews. â Attend required meetings. â Works closely with Director of Dental Operations. â Responsible for training and orientation of all Dentists and Hygienists. â Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement â Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. â Effective verbal and written communication skills. â Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals in area of expertise. â Ability to work both independently and in a team â Ability to work collaboratively with the Management Team â Demonstrates understanding and commitment of the health center mission. â Demonstrates understanding and commitment to the established CHC Values and Standards. â Other job-related duties as assigned.
