About The Position

Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, Inc. is seeking a Site Coordinator in Aberdeen. This role is responsible for overseeing the receiving and delivery of meals, maintaining facility and equipment cleanliness, managing relationships with site owners, and supervising volunteers. The Site Coordinator will also conduct community outreach to recruit clients and volunteers, and ensure volunteers are trained and aware of client needs. This position plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of the meal delivery program and community engagement.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with older individuals, disabled individuals, and individuals of all ages and cultures.
  • Ability to manage volunteers.
  • Highly organized.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift 40 pounds, and fulfill other physical requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
  • Familiarity with community organizations/publications/sources of volunteers/clients desirable.
  • Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety techniques.
  • Computer literacy.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year's paid or volunteer experience supervising others or coordinating activities.
  • Current driver's license, dependable licensed and insured vehicle.
  • Able to pass criminal background check.
  • Able to complete a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional language skills (Spanish etc.) a plus.
  • Experience in working with volunteers desirable.
  • Food service experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving meals from Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, ensuring facility and delivery equipment are well-maintained and clean.
  • Maintaining relations with physical site owners, including awareness of potential issues impacting meal delivery and fostering friendly relations.
  • Overseeing the timely delivery of meals to clients, communicating any discrepancies in quantity, type, or condition of meals to the Director of Food Services.
  • Supervising volunteers assigned to the site, providing training, conveying standards, and maintaining policies and procedures.
  • Managing volunteer schedules and coverage, assessing recruitment needs, and assisting in volunteer recruitment.
  • Working with volunteers to ensure they can identify and report client concerns.
  • Conducting community outreach to recruit additional clients and inform the community about volunteer and donation opportunities.
