Entry Level Site Civil Engineer - 2027 Graduate
About The Position
VHB’s Tampa, Florida office is seeking a 2027 graduate to join its Land Development planning and design team. The role offers exposure to projects of varying sizes and scopes. The Tampa Land Development group works on site development, stormwater management, utility design, permitting, and construction oversight for commercial, office, residential, industrial, hospitality, higher education, healthcare, and government clients. The engineer will work with a team under an experienced Engineer-of-Record to assist with site civil engineering plans, calculations, and specifications for land development projects throughout Florida. The position also supports permitting, design review, and construction observation for project certification.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 0 or more years of experience.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, with attention to detail and the ability to think critically.
- Team-oriented, with the capability to work independently.
- Some AutoCAD experience, preferably in Civil 3D.
Nice To Haves
- Engineer Intern (EI) certification, preferably in Florida.
- Experience or familiarity with typical stormwater and utility modeling software.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing site civil engineering plans, calculations, and specifications for land development projects throughout Florida under an experienced Engineer-of-Record.
- Assist in preparing permitting documents.
- Prepare and/or review design criteria, drawings, and specifications.
- Provide construction observation services for project certification.
