About The Position

ATCO Structures is seeking an experienced Site Carpenter to join their workforce housing projects team in Calgary. This is a full-time temporary assignment for 11-12 months. Requirements

5+ years of carpentry experience in a commercial or industrial construction setting
Safety-conscious with a proven track record of following safe work practices
Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools and working with diverse construction materials
Effective communicator and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

modular construction experience is considered an asset

Responsibilities

Build house framework, walls, roof, exterior and interior finishes
Install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding, and ceiling tiles
Repair and remodel existing structures of all kinds
Read and interpret drawings
Select materials, plan sequences and methods of work, and measure and mark materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions
Cut and shape materials and join them with nails, screws, bolts, or glue
Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and in the right size, shape, and location
Work accurately and economically and follow national and local building codes
Other duties as assigned
