About The Position

This position is for a Framing Crew Carpenter for projects in and around the Amherst area. The role involves rough framing of both residential and commercial projects, including setting panelized walls, floors, trusses, and roofs. It requires erecting and working on scaffolding and climbing ladders for assembling structures above ground levels. The job also includes measuring and marking materials, shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements using various tools, reading building plans, maintaining a clean work environment, crane signaling, and utilizing common carpenter skills. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, attention to detail, excellent communication, and be comfortable working in various indoor and outdoor environments. There may be opportunities to work in the manufacturing plant as needed, and all required safety programs must be completed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One to three years of experience in framing, construction, installing doors/windows, building materials, or similar industry preferred.
  • Requires ordinary ambulatory skills; stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate weights of 5-100lbs.
  • Must be able to use power tools, tape measure, read and understand work instructions, materials, and communicate with customers, co-workers, and contractors to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Requires great hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity.
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Rough framing of both residential and commercial projects.
  • Setting of panelized walls, floors, trusses and roofs.
  • Erecting and working on scaffolding and climbing ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
  • Measuring and marking cut lines on materials using a tape measure, ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
  • Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines and/or power saws.
  • Reading building plans.
  • Keeping a clean work environment includes job sites, company vehicles, and job trailers.
  • Working in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Crane signaling.
  • Utilizing common carpenter skills.
  • Working in the manufacturing plant as needed.
  • Completing all required safety programs and following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
