This position is fully grant funded by Veteran's Upward Bound, funded through August 2027; position funding may be extended beyond that date by a no-cost extension of the grant. The Site and Outreach Coordinator will supervise and direct Pueblo Community College (PCC) Site operations, coordinate and supervise all operations at the PCC site, and maintain the PCC Veterans Lounge schedule. This role involves supervising and assigning duties to 5–7 VA Work-Study employees and overseeing and coordinating 1–3 instructors and tutors. The coordinator will serve as the primary liaison between VUB and PCC campus administration, coordinate and provide veteran-focused services, and maintain positive working relationships with PCC staff and administration. Responsibilities include maintaining office supplies, textbooks, and learning materials, interviewing and hiring instructors, reviewing student progress, and creating classroom schedules and curriculum. The position also involves full VUB Casework Responsibility, including advising and interviewing veterans, admitting qualified veterans to the VUB program, maintaining records for grant requirements, managing database entry, developing comprehensive plans for veterans, coordinating with instructors for TABE examinations, and assisting in preparing and submitting annual Federal Reporting. As an Outreach Coordinator, the role involves identifying, targeting, and recruiting participants from Fremont and Pueblo Counties, identifying trends in student needs, and developing processes to improve retention and enrollment. This includes conducting public speaking events, designing marketing strategies, acting as a liaison with local veteran organizations, producing public service announcements, fostering business contacts, and advocating for veteran students.
