About The Position

The Single-Family Product Owner Manager helps develop and execute the product vision and strategy in partnership with business drivers/sponsors. As a key connection to the customer, this role provides feedback to the team and supports the product vision. Communicates product objectives and ‘the story’ to stakeholders and the team. Supports the end-to-end product strategy from inception and helps determine business value once a solution enters production. Ensures customer-driven design by considering user pain points, usability test results, market and industry knowledge, and ongoing research to deliver a well-positioned product. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and works with available resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to direct reports and team members within established company policies. May recommend changes to procedures that affect the immediate team or section. May aid in the development of business objectives for a section or department. Works on issues of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Acts as an advisor to team members to help meet schedules and resolve technical and operational problems. May assist in developing schedules and performance requirements; may support budget responsibilities. Manages the coordination of activities for a team or section. Requires the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches. Typically has 5+ years related experience and 1+ years management or leadership experience. Translate fraud trends, investigator workflows, regulatory expectations, and operational needs into prioritized product features. Collaborate with technology, risk, QC, enterprise fraud, seller/servicer oversight, and other stakeholders to deliver scalable, defensible solutions. Analyze threats, performance metrics, and user feedback to refine strategy and improve product effectiveness. Connect strategy and execution, ensuring alignment across roadmap, delivery, and enterprise fraud-risk objectives. Serve as a subject-matter resource within Freddie Mac and contribute to industry discussions on modern fraud-risk management.

Requirements

  • College Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred.
  • 8 - 10 years of related product, risk, fraud, or operational experience.
  • 2+ years in a management, leadership, or influential role.
  • Experience working across matrixed organizations and supporting cross-functional delivery.
  • Ability to convert compliance or fraud risk challenges into actionable product strategy.
  • Proven ability to communicate vision, roadmap, and value clearly to diverse partners.
  • Experience with operations systems and workflow; ideally within fraud detection, case management systems, analytics, or compliance technology a plus.
  • Skilled in market analysis, trend identification, and modern product management practices.
  • Curiosity about operational inefficiencies, fraud patterns, and emerging threats.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical reasoning.
