Operate under limited supervision to conduct and manage collateral property inspections across assigned territories and expanded market coverage areas. This field-focused role inspects multiple property types, and evaluates property condition, maintenance, quality, risk, repair needs, marketability, and other observational data relevant to collateral and/or valuation decisions. The role prepares clear, timely inspection reports, reviews supporting valuation and property documentation, monitors local market conditions, and communicates findings and trends to internal stakeholders. Market travel is required. The position may also support special projects and broader collateral-risk initiatives requested by management.

Requirements

• Strong observational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate field conditions into clear, comprehensive reports and effective presentations.
• Working knowledge of real estate property condition, market analysis, valuation concepts, collateral risk, repair considerations, and factors affecting marketability.
• Ability to work independently in the field, manage multiple inspections and deadlines, maintain accurate records, and exercise sound judgment in varying property and market conditions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and other Microsoft 365 applications.
• Ability to monitor market conditions and effectively communicate the most relevant trends, risks, and findings to multiple teams across the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage technology, automation, AI, and data analytics to improve operational efficiency, reporting, and decision making.
• Curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.
• Due Diligence, Financial Analysis, Investments, Loan Processing, Mortgage Servicing, Real Estate Appraisals
• Bachelor's Level Degree (Required)

Nice To Haves

• Real estate appraisal, appraisal review, valuation, or market-trends experience. Certified Residential or Certified General Appraiser strongly preferred.
• Experience completing quality assurance or quality-control functions across multiple valuation products, property types, or geographic regions.
• Experience with REO, property preservation, asset management, construction, or repair-cost assessment.
• Experience with reporting, analytics, and business intelligence tools, including Tableau, Power BI, Power Apps, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience developing workflow automations using Microsoft Power Automate, Alteryx, or similar low-code platforms.
• Proficiency working with structured data, dashboards, and reporting solutions to identify trends, risks, and actionable insights.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, or equivalent, to improve reporting, documentation, and operational efficiency.
• Loan underwriting experience.
• Condo Project underwriting or Condo Project review experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections within local and expanded market areas across multiple property types. Travel to assigned properties and markets.
• Assess and document property condition, quality, occupancy indicators, repair needs, neighborhood influences, marketability, collateral risks, and other relevant field observations.
• Prepare accurate, current, well-supported, and accessible inspection reports, including photographs, narrative findings, and recommended follow-up actions.
• Identify emerging collateral, valuation, insurance, construction, and market risks through field observations and trend analysis, providing actionable intelligence to management and business partners.
• Review appraisal reports, desktop valuations, hybrid valuations, and other collateral products for quality, credibility, compliance, and consistency with observed property conditions and market evidence. Identify valuation concerns and communicate recommendations to internal stakeholders. Review Single-Family and Condo Project documentation as it relates to inspection requirements, collateral eligibility, property condition, and risk considerations.
• Evaluate the potential impact of repairs, deferred maintenance, property damage, or adverse conditions on value and marketability; identify potential insurance-related concerns when appropriate.
• Monitor adherence to corporate policies, procedures, valuation guidelines, inspection standards, and applicable quality-control requirements.
• Partner with internal teams to communicate findings, support issue resolution, and provide actionable insights from field observations, data, and market analysis.
• Perform moderately complex assignments independently and participate in more complex projects or cross-functional initiatives as a team member.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for field observations, collateral risk, and valuation issues, providing consultation to internal partners across Credit, Valuations, Project Standards, and Quality Control.
