About The Position

As part of the Technical Services department within CAE’s Civil Training and Services division, you will perform all preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on several CAE and non-CAE flight simulators and associated devices at the CAE Training Center in Orlando, FL. In this role, the Simulator Technician II will be expected to perform complex but standard technical tasks including preventative and corrective maintenance work in office, on site, and in the field and may execute some design work.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (2-year technical degree) or equivalent related technical training.
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct simulator experience; or 4 years of related experience in electronics, avionics, automated systems, computer networking, troubleshooting, or repair.
  • Experience performing troubleshooting activities at both component and system levels.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and utilize schematics and electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Experience operating electronic test equipment.
  • Experience with soldering and circuit board repair.
  • Basic knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Customer service orientation with strong attention to detail.

  • Experience assisting with complex simulator maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
  • Experience evaluating Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results.
  • Experience training or mentoring technicians.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on flight simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve routine issues affecting simulators and related systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving complex simulator and system-related issues.
  • Perform non-aircraft-specific pre-flight and post-flight tasks on all simulators and aircraft-specific tasks where assigned.
  • Perform all required visual alignments.
  • Run and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results.
  • Utilize the maintenance management system to document and track maintenance activities.
  • Train technicians in foundational technical skills.
  • Complete all assigned training and development activities.
  • Assist with simulator refurbishment projects and hardware modifications.
  • Learn and comply with the CAE Quality Management System.
  • Provide customer support and respond to customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Perform logistics-related activities, including receiving parts, coordinating repairs, and conducting testing and validation.
  • Maintain simulator cleanliness and housekeeping standards as required.
  • Complete administrative tasks associated with the position.
  • Actively pursue ongoing professional development and technical training.
