About The Position

Provides routine support and operation for the daily activities of a Clinical Simulation Center ensuring scheduled activities have required tools and equipment stocked and deployed as specified. Work with simulation center specialists and faculty/staff operate and maintain tools and equipment used for simulation curriculum. Texas Tech Health El Paso (TTEP) is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those with H1B visas or those currently on student or postgraduate visas. Additionally, this position is not eligible for remote or hybrid opportunities. All work is required to be performed onsite at TTEP.

Requirements

• Associates degree in related field OR High school with two (2) years related full-time paid experience.
• Basic knowledge of simulation center operations, healthcare simulation principles, and relevant equipment.
• Ability to set up, operate, and maintain simulation technologies, including manikins, task trainers, audiovisual (AV) systems, and computer-based simulation programs.
• Understanding of medical terminology and general healthcare environments.
• Basic IT and audiovisual troubleshooting skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and learners.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stakes educational environment.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and institutional policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepares simulation labs, ensuring that rooms, equipment, and supplies are properly stocked and set up for scheduled activities.
• Assists with the setup, breakdown, and cleaning of simulation manikins, task trainers, and other simulation-related equipment.
• Operates basic audiovisual (AV) and IT systems to support simulation activities, including recording and debriefing technologies.
• Supports faculty and Simulation Center Specialists in running simulation scenarios.
• Performs routine maintenance, cleaning, and storage of simulation equipment following manufacturer guidelines.
• Conducts regular inspections of simulators, medical devices, and AV systems to identify and report potential issues.
• Assists with maintaining an inventory of simulation supplies, ensuring timely restocking of consumables.
• Works with vendors and senior staff to coordinate repairs and service of malfunctioning equipment.
• Assists users with technical troubleshooting of simulation equipment, software, and AV systems.
• Documents equipment usage, maintenance, and incident reports as needed.
• Supports faculty and staff in operating simulation-related technologies.
• Ensures that simulation operations comply with safety standards and institutional policies.
• Participates in team meetings and ongoing training to improve technical skills.
• Assists with documentation and data entry related to simulation activities, such as scheduling, utilization tracking, and course evaluations.
• Supports internal and external campus outreach efforts including tours and demonstrations.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.).

• Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
