About The Position

Grand Canyon University is seeking an Immersive Simulation Technician to provide technical support for immersive simulation equipment and users. This role involves preparing and maintaining simulation equipment, media, computers, and materials. The technician will assist learners and the Immersive Simulation Facilitator with simulation activities and lab preparations. The position is located at the Accelerated BSN site in Henderson, NV, with a Monday-Friday schedule from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Requirements

  • Must have a granted diploma or certification relative to background experience (e.g., medical assistant diploma).
  • Two or more years of patient care experience as a, but not limited to, Paramedic, Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Respiratory Therapist, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), Simulation Technician, or any other licensed health care provider preferred.
  • Two years related experience in a clinical healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, pharmacology, and equipment.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Nice To Haves

  • Unencumbered Arizona LPN or RN Licensure or Arizona Certification helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for operations to ensure all equipment is running properly and efficiently.
  • Provide technical operational support for all systems and equipment related to immersive simulation.
  • Assist with training faculty in the use of simulation equipment and serve as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment as needed for simulation in collaboration with the Director of Lab.
  • Support/assist in props placement and moulage set-up to create a virtual healthcare setting.
  • Assist with the development of scenarios utilized for simulation experiences.
