About The Position

The College of Nursing is currently recruiting a Simulation Program Manager to manage and oversee the administrative and daily operations of the College of Nursing Simulation Program across undergraduate, and graduate nursing programs at the Health Sciences Albuquerque and Rio Rancho campuses. This position provides leadership and direction to staff supporting OSCEs, standardized patients, skills laboratories, high-fidelity simulations, and simulation activities. The Simulation Program Manager will also ensure that simulation activities are conducted safely and consistently with university requirements, accreditation expectations, College of Nursing procedures, and recognized simulation standards, including the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience
  • 2 of which are management level experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising Simulation Program Specialists and providing leadership, guidance, and operational support
  • Assisting with scheduling personnel, equipment, and day-to-day operations of simulation and skills laboratory
  • Overseeing Objective Structured Clinical Examinations OSCEs and standardized patient activities
  • Managing low-, medium-, and high-fidelity simulation equipment and manikins
  • Overseeing simulation software and technology platforms, including SIMIQ, Laerdal, Gaumard, video-recording systems, virtual reality applications, and feedback tools
  • Managing task trainers, medication-dispensing systems, patient monitors, examination tables, headwalls, and multimedia equipment, and other simulation-related technologies
  • Maintaining laboratory inventory, personal protective equipment, clinical supplies, moulage materials, and other simulation resources
  • Coordinating equipment maintenance, repairs, upgrades, warranties, and service needs, including communication with manufacturers and vendors
  • Providing technical support, training, and guidance for faculty and staff using simulation equipment, technology, and related systems
  • Assisting with collecting simulation and operational data
  • Promoting consistent, safe, and high-quality simulation practices across programs and campuses
