Responsible for coordinating all aspects of human and non-human simulation activities including integrating, maintaining, and operating computer and audiovisual technology, performing pre and post simulation activities, and executing simulation sessions equipment. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing audiovisual technology assets, overseeing simulation AV systems, and providing pre-briefing and orientation to the learning environment. The specialist will support simulation center users in the safe and appropriate use of specialized equipment, research and implement new educational experiences, and demonstrate knowledge of health professions principles and practices, including safe operation of common medical equipment and universal precautions. They will also provide support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair to clinical equipment, maintain knowledge of current clinical practice and evidence-based research in human patient simulation, and support the design and implementation of learning experiences. Ensuring optimal functioning of technology and systems through testing, updates, and maintenance, safeguarding data, and coordinating access, availability, and scheduling of simulation spaces are key responsibilities. The role also includes stock control, maintaining clean and safe preparation/storage areas, managing simulation activities in alignment with Air Methods’ Education Blueprint, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Additionally, the specialist will assist with record maintenance, database updates, data analysis, facilitate simulation for research and quality improvement, and provide support for simulation technologies. They will contribute to documentation, set up, program, operate, store, test, and calibrate simulators and task trainers, prepare simulation environments to accurately represent clinical settings, portray patient/family roles, research and apply moulage/special effects, and develop/evaluate scenarios. This position requires regular attendance and travel between simulation centers (approximately 50%).
