About The Position

The Simulation Operations Specialist is responsible for assisting the Department of Nursing in Appalachian State University’s Beaver College of Health Sciences in all related healthcare simulation labs, simulation activities, and innovative educational practices related to healthcare simulation technologies. In collaboration with the Director of Healthcare Simulation & Innovative Learning, the Simulation Operations Specialist will contribute by providing a safe, confidential, and welcoming learning simulation learning experience to the Department of Nursing programs as well as other internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Graduation from a two year technical college with a major in computer science, information technology or related area and one year in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or graduation from a four year college or university and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or graduation from a four year college or university with a major in computer science or information technology or related degree.
• Related information technology experience may be substituted year for year for the required education.
• Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1-year experience with health-related learning technology/simulation
• Experience with video capture and learning management systems ( LMS ) software package (e.g., CAE Learning Space, B-Line)
• Experience in higher education
• Relevant clinical experience and or/medical knowledge
