About The Position

The Simulation Operation Specialist (SOS) plays an integral role on the nursing education team, responsible for maintaining, setting up, storing, and cleaning all simulation equipment for student scenarios. The SOS also manages the student lab, including maintaining supplies and setting up/tearing down based on the curriculum, and stocking par level quantities of skill lab supplies. This role requires exceptional customer service skills for interacting with faculty and students. The position reports to the Director, Nursing Services. Orbis Education partners with colleges and universities to expand pre-licensure healthcare programs, helping to produce high-quality graduates. The academic partner for this role is Pacific Lutheran University, offering an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at its Auburn, WA site.

Requirements

  • Interest in healthcare simulation
  • customer service experience
  • Knowledge of Databases, Internet, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software
  • Use of PC, the Internet, simulation equipment, and basic nursing equipment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and teamwork

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of experience working in simulation in an education institution or equivalent setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides support in the use of simulation in healthcare settings
  • Prepares and maintains lab equipment and materials related to simulation
  • Operates patient simulators for the duration of simulations
  • Assists in training faculty in the use of simulation equipment and collaborates in maintenance and repair by troubleshooting immediate issues with simulation equipment and all other equipment used in relation to the simulations
  • Sets up and tears down rooms in preparation for various simulations
  • Provides recommendations on equipment, supplies and materials
  • Maintains current knowledge of simulation equipment catalogs and operation manuals
  • May operate and maintain audio/visual equipment
