About The Position

The Simulation Coordinator Lead serves as the operational and educational lead for simulation activities within the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Program. This position is responsible for the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of simulation-based learning experiences that support student achievement of course outcomes, clinical judgment development, and program learning objectives. The Simulation Coordinator collaborates with theory, laboratory, and clinical faculty to ensure simulation experiences are standardized, evidence-based, and aligned with accreditation, regulatory, and nursing education standards. This individual oversees simulation operations, faculty development, simulation scheduling, and simulation equipment while supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives throughout the program.

Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of recent clinical nursing experience.
  • Previous experience in nursing education, simulation, clinical instruction, or laboratory instruction.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with educational technology and simulation equipment.
  • Knowledge of simulation-based education and debriefing methodologies.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and clinical partners.
  • Ability to analyze educational outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems, simulation software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, move, and organize simulation equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during simulation activities.
  • Ability to demonstrate nursing procedures and operate simulation technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Experience coordinating simulation programs in a nursing education setting.
  • Experience with pre-licensure nursing education.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements related to nursing education.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the simulation program and simulation laboratory.
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain simulation activities across all ASN cohorts.
  • Ensure simulation experiences align with course outcomes, program outcomes, and NCLEX preparation.
  • Maintain simulation standards consistent with best practices in nursing education.
  • Coordinate simulation utilization to maximize student learning opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of simulation activities and recommend improvements.
  • Develop and maintain the master simulation schedule for all ASN cohorts.
  • Coordinate student simulation assignments, remediation sessions, and evaluation activities.
  • Collaborate with faculty to ensure simulation experiences are scheduled appropriately throughout each semester.
  • Communicate simulation schedules and updates to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Coordinate room assignments, equipment availability, and simulation resources.
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop, revise, and standardize simulation scenarios.
  • Ensure simulation activities reflect current evidence-based practice and course objectives.
  • Maintain a library of simulation scenarios, evaluation tools, and debriefing resources.
  • Assist faculty in integrating simulation throughout the curriculum.
  • Review simulation outcomes and student performance data to support curricular improvements.
  • Train and support faculty in simulation facilitation, evaluation, and debriefing techniques.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty regarding simulation best practices and educational technology.
  • Assist with faculty onboarding related to simulation expectations and procedures.
  • Coordinate faculty development activities related to simulation and clinical judgment evaluation.
  • Promote consistency in simulation implementation and student assessment.
  • Maintain simulation equipment, mannequins, audiovisual systems, and laboratory resources.
  • Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and replacement of simulation equipment.
  • Monitor simulation inventory and submit requests for supplies and equipment purchases.
  • Ensure simulation spaces remain organized, functional, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Oversee simulation setup, operation, and breakdown for scheduled activities.
  • Support simulation-based student evaluations and competency assessments.
  • Assist with remediation planning for students requiring additional support.
  • Ensure simulation evaluation tools are implemented consistently across faculty.
  • Monitor student participation and completion of simulation requirements.
  • Assist with summative and formative simulation assessments as assigned.
  • Conduct clinical site visits as assigned to support alignment between simulation and clinical education.
  • Collaborate with clinical faculty to identify opportunities for simulation integration and remediation.
  • Participate in residency activities, student orientations, and program events.
  • Support special projects related to clinical education and student success initiatives.
  • Participate in program assessment, accreditation preparation, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Collect and analyze simulation utilization and outcome data.
  • Assist with annual program evaluation and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain records and documentation required for accreditation and regulatory review.
  • Participate in simulation, curriculum, and clinical committees.
