About The Position
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a certified Silver Sneakers or Active Older Adults Group Fitness Instructor who is passionate about transforming lives through group exercise. The ideal candidate understands the impact of engaging classes and connecting with members to inspire healthier lifestyles. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a fun, diverse team with supportive supervision and flexible scheduling.
Requirements
- 18+ years of age and high school diploma or equivalent
- YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification with experience or National certification
- Certification in Silver Sneakers or Active Older Adults Group Exercise
- Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence
Responsibilities
- Set an example of healthy living and personal fitness
- Prepare routines and/or choreography within YMCA standards
- Provide support and encouragement to members and reinforce healthy lifestyles
- Ensure the safety and well-being of members and staff. Notify supervisor of any safety hazards or concerns within the facility
- Provide excellent service to all members and notify supervisor of member needs, supplies or other items needed to ensure program quality and member satisfaction
- Ensure that safe movement and technique is utilized by every member in all classes
- Maintain knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and maintain records on any incidents
