Crafco, Inc. is seeking a Silicone and Concrete Chemist at our new office in Phoenix, AZ. The Silicone and Concrete Chemist is responsible for specification conformance of silicone products, formula maintenance, quality control monitoring, alternate raw material approval, agency approvals, technical support and manufacturing processes for the silicone sealants area. The Silicone and Concrete Chemist will support technical areas of concrete related product lines for Crafco. The Silicone and Concrete Chemist must understand silicone chemistry and concrete chemistry, applicable specifications, the manufacturing process and have effective communication and computer skills. Specific Duties: Follow company personnel and safety policies. Encourage good employee relationships both within the department and with other departments. Promote and inspire employees to support Crafco Vision, Values, and Mission Statements. Know the formulas and why they are the way they are. Approve alternate raw materials for necessity, cost or performance reasons. Keep up to date on agency specifications. Assist in design and development of packaging materials and processes for products if needed. Assist in other concrete formulation work where necessary and assigned. Partner with sales and production to answer questions and make recommendations on product specifications, properties, performance, use, applicability etc. Monitor daily data inputs and follow using statistics for conformance and trends. Adjust formulas as needed to maintain conformance with specifications based on technically sound decisions. Oversee raw materials quality. Maintain agency approvals, update option codes and sample for approvals, as necessary. Understand manufacturing process, develop manufacturing instructions and procedures at the production plant, investigate NCRs with production. Report on products, quality and safety in meetings as needed. Other duties as assigned.
