About The Position

The Signature Partnerships & Community Reinvestment Programs Director leads community-facing programs, partnerships, and reinvestment initiatives that advance AmeriHealth Caritas’ mission to help people get care, stay well, and build healthy communities. This role oversees Healthy Hoops and other signature programs; supports market community reinvestment priorities, including Select Health of South Carolina; and provides focused support for South Carolina community investment and MCO certification-related commitments. The role requires a visible, relationship-driven leader who can align community priorities, market strategy, public affairs, and operational execution to deliver measurable impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in public health, health administration, business, public policy, social work, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field, required.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Medicaid managed care, public health, community reinvestment, strategic partnerships, stakeholder engagement, or community-facing program leadership preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in community engagement, community investment, public affairs, Medicaid managed care, strategic partnerships, program operations, event execution, market commitments, MCO certification support, or related functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree: public health, health administration, public policy, social work, nonprofit management, business, communications, or related field preferred.
  • Experience developing community-based programs, health education initiatives, stakeholder engagement strategies, or market-specific reinvestment plans.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with community-based organizations, public officials, civic leaders, schools, providers, faith-based organizations, and nonprofit partners.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and storytelling skills, with ability to represent the organization externally.
  • Experience managing events, vendors, budgets, timelines, reporting, and cross-functional project execution.
  • Medicaid managed care, MCO certification support, market-specific investment planning, South Carolina market experience, or familiarity with Select Health commitments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of community impact strategies that strengthen presence, credibility, and mission-driven engagement in priority markets, including South Carolina.
  • Lead planning, coordination, and continuous improvement for Healthy Hoops and related health education initiatives.
  • Translate enterprise priorities, market needs, and community insights into programs that support prevention, health literacy, chronic disease awareness, and whole-person health.
  • Use data, community feedback, market priorities, and performance measures to improve engagement, outcomes, community benefit, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide strategic oversight for Healthy Hoops and other signature community health programs.
  • Coordinate execution with Public Affairs, Market Leadership, Clinical, Population Health, Marketing, Communications, Legal, Compliance, and Operations partners.
  • Support content and delivery for asthma awareness, medication adherence, nutrition, hydration, physical activity, tobacco/vaping prevention, diabetes awareness, mental wellness, and other market-relevant topics.
  • Develop repeatable planning, partner coordination, and evaluation practices to improve quality, consistency, and scalability.
  • Lead market community reinvestment planning with market leadership to reflect local needs, regulatory expectations, community priorities, and organizational commitments.
  • Provide focused leadership and coordination for Select Health of South Carolina community investment priorities, MCO certification requirements, and long-term market commitments.
  • Partner with South Carolina market leadership to plan and execute community investment activities that strengthen local relationships and demonstrate sustained commitment.
  • Build relationships with community-based organizations, schools, faith-based organizations, civic leaders, providers, government stakeholders, and other partners.
  • Ensure activities are documented, reportable, compliant, and supported by storytelling, impact measurement, and evidence of progress against market reinvestment commitments.
  • Represent AmeriHealth Caritas in community forums, partner meetings, health education events, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Build trusted relationships that strengthen AmeriHealth Caritas’ role as a mission-driven community health partner.
  • Collaborate with partners to design culturally responsive, accessible programs aligned with local priorities.
  • Develop and support communications, briefing materials, talking points, and presentations that demonstrate program value, outcomes, and strategic alignment.
  • Manage program plans, timelines, budgets, vendors, logistics, and post-event evaluation for assigned initiatives.
  • Establish measures to assess reach, engagement, partner participation, health education impact, and community benefit.
  • Apply project management practices to coordinate priorities, dependencies, and execution across stakeholders.
  • Identify risks, resource needs, governance considerations, and opportunities for collaboration, accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
