About The Position

Founded in 1891, The Trustees of Reservations is Massachusetts’ premier conservation and preservation organization, dedicated to preserving properties of exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological value for public use and enjoyment. The Trustees protect special places for future generations and have helped protect over 50,000 acres, with more than 120 reservations open to the public. As a non-profit, it relies on visitors, supporters, volunteers, and its 100,000 Member households for funding. This role specifically supports stewardship projects and visitor services related to the popular 'Halloween on the Hill' event at Long Hill in Beverly, MA. The event involves the creative display of over 2,000 carved pumpkins and large-scale sets along a trail, attracting significant visitation. The position is seasonal, non-exempt, and requires working nights and weekends during the event period.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform the installation of lights, sets, and decorations for the Halloween on the Hill event.
  • Perform daily maintenance work as required for the event.
  • Support visitor services on event days, including retail assistance, welcoming guests, check-in, concessions, parking, and safety monitoring.
  • Assist the Halloween on the Hill team in producing a successful family-friendly event.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.
