About The Position

The Undersea Systems Division (USD) at Leidos currently has an opening for a Signal/Image Processing Intern to work in our San Diego, CA office. The USD operates at the leading edge of technology by designing, demonstrating, and deploying solutions to solve complex remote sensing problems for our Department of Defense customers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to system development and to gain experience for an individual with interest in maritime remote sensing, physics, sensors, system prototyping, algorithm and software development, statistics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Our focus is to develop capabilities and deployable prototypes and transition those to our Defense business segment.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Master's degree from an accredited college/university in EE, Physics, or similar
  • Python, Matlab
  • Gitlab or other software repository and issue system
  • Develop algorithms in signal/image processing and work with AI models for an innovative program
  • Support analysis of collected data from test events
  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Supporting a DoW program called Pulling Guard as a Signal/Image Processing intern.
  • Under the mentorship of Leidos technical staff, responsible for development and coding of various algorithms in sensing and sensemaking.
