About The Position

As a Sign Installer level I, you will learn to use mechanical and electrical hand tools and understand construction concepts. Some main responsibilities will include traveling on a plane and driving a company vehicle to client locations and learning to install various types of signs. Sign Installers I should be able to climb and work at high altitudes in all-weather types, depending on the project. Sign Installers need strong communication skills to understand different customer needs and requirements.

Requirements

  • Installers MUST be able to get a DOT medical card and have a valid and current license with a clean driving record and no restrictions. This is a non-negotiable requirement of this position.
  • High school or GED diploma
  • OSHA 10 required
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility, and work under pressure to maintain schedules with quality work.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and able to use tools, power equipment and digging equipment.
  • Mainly overnight travel is required, flying required. Must have up to date acceptable documentation in order to fly.

Nice To Haves

  • A class B license a plus
  • Some ability to read and interpret drawings as well as a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form is a plus.
  • Some ability to read and interpret various documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and related documentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Cutting parts with power tools
  • Measures properly
  • Basic wiring
  • Responsibilities include the safe transport & installation of various interior and exterior illuminated and non-illuminated signs and environmental branding products.
  • Learn to maintain and operate Bucket trucks, forklifts and aerial equipment. Use power/non-power and measurement tools daily.
  • Learn to safely install various sign types & test light signs. Sign types to include but not limited to channel letters, box signs, free standing signs, custom signs, directional signs and misc. non-illuminated signs.
  • Learn to safely install LED lighting systems.
  • Learn to properly diagnose and repair all signs listed above, including structural, electric and & aesthetic issues.
  • Works with cement, sand, or sakrete for sign footings
  • Lift, load, and unload all supplies and signs up to 150 pounds physically and up to 1,000 pounds with cranes or ladder trucks.
  • Learn to perform operations, such as rewiring and removing defective parts and installing new parts.
  • Photograph signs once installed & document work performed.
