About The Position

Electric City Signs is seeking an experienced metal fabricator to build commercial signage. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, with the ability to work on various projects in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a keen attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. The fabricator/welder will be responsible for producing high-quality metal signage, while adhering to safety standards.

Requirements

Proven experience in fabrication and welding within a manufacturing or construction environment.
Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication processes.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Experience with various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and stick welding.
Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers accurately.
Knowledge of basic math principles for measurements and calculations in fabrication tasks.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Experience with machining processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

Operate welding equipment including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and stick welding techniques.
Fabricate metal components according to specifications from blueprints and schematics.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as press brake machines and plasma cutters.
Perform pipe threading, ductwork assembly, and other fabrication tasks as required.
Conduct quality inspections of finished products using calipers and micrometers.
Collaborate with team members on construction site projects, ensuring efficient workflow.
Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
Operate forklifts and cranes for material handling when necessary.
Engage in rigging activities for lifting heavy components safely.
