About The Position

Onsite Sign Group is seeking hands-on fabricators to build illuminated and non-illuminated sign cabinets, cladding, faces, frames, and custom components. This role involves precision box-building with exact layout, square assemblies, tight tolerances, and clean finishing. The company has been designing and building landmarks across Western Canada since 1993 and operates a 30,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Lloydminster, employing over 60 people across 7 cities in Alberta and Saskatchewan. The Lloydminster facility is the manufacturing heart of the company, handling projects from design to installation. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in cabinetmaking, custom millwork, exhibit building, or other accurate build-to-drawing work, as their skills transfer directly to sign fabrication. The company provides training on their specific materials and methods.

Requirements

  • Experience in fabrication, cabinetmaking, custom millwork, carpentry, exhibit building, or a comparable trade.
  • Able to read drawings and work accurately from measurements.
  • Confident using hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to fit, finish, and small details.
  • Able to lift and move materials and stand for a full shift.
  • Reliable, safety-minded, and comfortable working as part of a production team.

Nice To Haves

  • Cabinet-building or custom-millwork experience
  • Sign-cabinet, aluminum-extrusion, plastics, or sheet-metal experience
  • Basic MIG or TIG welding experience
  • Forklift experience

Responsibilities

  • Read shop drawings, work orders, cut lists, and job specifications.
  • Measure, mark, cut, drill, route, bend, bond, rivet, and fasten parts accurately.
  • Build square, clean, and serviceable sign cabinets, faces, retainers, frames, and custom assemblies.
  • Work with aluminum extrusion, sheet aluminum, ACM, acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, wood products, plastics, and adhesives.
  • Use saws, drills, routers, sanders, brakes, shears, hand tools, and assembly equipment safely.
  • Dry-fit components and complete in-process checks before work moves to paint or assembly.
  • Identify missing material, drawing conflicts, or fit-up issues before they delay the next department.
  • Complete finishing, cleanup, labelling, and required production records.
  • Maintain tools and a clean, organized work area.
