About The Position

Sign Builders in the Graphics Department work with the computer-aided Design (CAD) Department in the creation of patterns for LED and the cutting of vinyl copy and graphics for sign faces. They are responsible for applying vinyl copies and designs to sign faces and transferring copies and designs to Pana flex faces.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Detail oriented with precise layout skills.
• Proficiency in basic spelling, geometry and math (convert decimals to fractions).
• Ability to use a tape measure and scale rule to 1/16” accuracy.
• Ability to stand and walk in approximately a 200 ft. radius for 8-10 hours/day.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to maintain correct postures while reaching, bending, crouching, kneeling, and twisting.
• Ability to reach horizontally across a work surface beyond 12” from the body up to full body extension.
• Skill aptitude examination in applying computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints, drawings, written procedures, and verbal instructions.
• Operate plotter to cut vinyl to blueprint specifications.
• Hand-cut vinyl to blueprint specifications.
• Apply vinyl to sign faces.
• Transfer copies and designs to Pana flex faces.
