About The Position

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a SIGINT/GEOINT Modeling & Simulation Engineer for its Surveillance and Navigation Architecture Performance Department (SNAPD), within the Integrated Performance Subdivision of the Enterprise Effects Division. The role evaluates space-based intelligence architectures using sophisticated simulation tools and applies expertise in signals intelligence, geospatial intelligence, and geolocation to support requirements verification, analyses of alternatives, and mission performance modeling that informs national security. This is a full-time position based in Chantilly, Virginia, requiring at least four days onsite each week. The successful candidate will lead collaborative teams in assessing legacy and emerging space-based architectures, translate customer needs into project plans, guide analysts and developers, and build multidisciplinary technical teams. The engineer will work with government leaders, contractors, and Aerospace colleagues; mentor junior staff; communicate findings through presentations and reports for technical and senior-leadership audiences; and support the development and sustainment of analysis and simulation tools. Depending on level, the role may require at least five years of relevant experience as an Engineering Specialist or at least ten years of progressively responsible technical experience and demonstrated leadership as a Senior Engineering Specialist. The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.

Requirements

  • Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, C++, Fortran, or MATLAB.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and languages.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph; U.S. citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
  • For the Senior Engineering Specialist level: at least 10 years of progressively responsible technical experience.
  • For the Senior Engineering Specialist level: demonstrated technical leadership, such as leading project teams, mentoring early-career engineers, or driving technical strategy.
  • For the Senior Engineering Specialist level: knowledge of at least one national security space or intelligence mission area, including signals intelligence, space surveillance, geospatial intelligence, or space protection.
  • For the Senior Engineering Specialist level: strong personal accountability and adaptability to changing customer expectations.
