About The Position

The Shuttle Driver 1 will safely load, unload, and deliver parts on a timely schedule as directed, to Shuttle System drop boxes and Stores along assigned route. This is to be performed while adhering to company safety regulations and state laws. Other duties may include, but are not limited to, assisting Parts Departments in sorting and other warehouse duties. Must be able to work 3rd Shift: 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Must be able to operate manual transmissions. Essential Functions Responds to company needs in a positive, caring manner while striving for prompt, accurate and efficient transport of all shuttle shipments. Secures material onto truck and ensures that material meets state and federal guidelines for safe transport and vehicle capabilities, as measured by passing inspections through D.O.T. mobile and fixed scale locations. Meets all state requirements and all Holt safety and health guidelines, as monitored by yearly management records. Completes D.O.T. required drivers daily log accurately and without misrepresentation, and must not have more than three moving violations within a twelve-month period. Completes driver’s daily inspection report, making recommendations for repair or maintenance. Responsible for the clean appearance of the company assigned vehicle. Travels to all HOLT CAT locations, and works multiple days or weeks at those locations. Works with Parts Systems Manager on various projects. Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards. Performs other duties as assigned. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development. Entry-level position – Generally has at least three years of experience and/or demonstrated job relevant knowledge/skills. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job under immediate supervision.

Requirements

Must be able to work 3rd Shift: 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM.
Must be able to operate manual transmissions.
Must not have more than three moving violations within a twelve-month period.
Basic knowledge of transportation, and safe driving procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety Regulations/DOT guidelines.
Demonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems.
Must be able to drive both manual and automatic transmissions.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
Quality control analysis skills.
Operation and control skills.
Equipment selection skills.
The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
Ability to read maps and operate GPS systems.
Ability to maintain a clean driver’s record and diligent attention to safety.
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair.
The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble small objects.
Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

Ability to learn fork lift operations.
Required to adapt to our safety culture.
High school or equivalent diploma preferred.
Valid Texas Driver’s License with Class B CDL, Class A CDL preferred, to include the ability to maintain the Valid Texas Driver’s License.
Driver must be qualified and certified for vehicle operation.
Good driving record required.
Must have at least 3 years’ experience operating a truck trailer combo.
Must be able to acquire and retain a DOT physical/medical card, MSHA certificate and fork lift license.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 100% of the time.
Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladders.
Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment.
Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
