About The Position

Portland Community College (PCC) is seeking a Shuttle Bus Driver/Transit Service Operator (Casual Prof II) to provide safe, reliable, and courteous shuttle transportation for students, staff, and faculty. This is a non-benefited, hourly casual position with variable hours and shifts across PCC campuses. The role requires CDL licensure, professionalism, and a focus on safety and service. PCC currently limits employment to individuals residing in Oregon and Washington, and employment offers are contingent upon the ability to establish residence in Oregon or Washington. PCC will ensure that applicants requiring reasonable accommodation for the hiring process are provided for.

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe, reliable, and courteous shuttle transportation for Portland Community College students, staff, and faculty.
  • Operates shuttle buses in accordance with all traffic laws and college policies.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and safety of the shuttle bus.
  • Assists passengers with boarding and disembarking, including those with disabilities.
  • Responds to passenger inquiries and provides information about college services and routes.
  • Reports any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
  • Maintains accurate records of mileage, passenger counts, and incidents.
  • Follows established routes and schedules, making adjustments as necessary due to traffic or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Adheres to all college policies and procedures, including those related to safety and customer service.
