It is expanding its team at its Moreno Valley, California office and is seeking a motivated Shunter/Yard Hostler for an immediate start. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity. The role involves moving company trailers within a defined yard area using a shunt truck, coordinating with shipping personnel, and reporting trailer issues or damage. Trailer washing and tire repair involving minimal repairs are also part of the role. The work is fast-paced and physically demanding, may require staying beyond usual shift hours depending on operational needs and shipment volume, and requires the ability to lift 50 pounds.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience.
- A good driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Willingness to stay beyond usual shift hours depending on operational needs and shipment volume.
Responsibilities
- Move or shift company trailers within a defined area.
- Follow company-established safety rules and procedures.
- Follow and execute company-established safe and defensive driving methods.
- Operate a shunt truck to move trailers within the yard.
- Communicate with shipping personnel to ensure efficient movement of trailers.
- Report issues with or damage to trailers.
- Wash trailers and perform tire repair involving minimal repairs.
