About The Position

The Shunt Truck Driver is responsible for maintaining the daily cross-dock by switching trailers to each location. This role ensures that each load is safely put in place and secured. The driver will also monitor and maintain all equipment and trailers, including fueling, cleaning, and reporting any issues. Additionally, the driver will ensure reefers are operational and complete daily yard checks and reports. Communication with Shipping and Receiving teams is crucial for efficient operations.

Requirements

  • Maintain a clean CVOR and driver’s abstract, must provide in interview
  • Possess a valid driver’s license (AZ), must provide in interview
  • Ability to provide a police clearance and pass initial and ongoing drug testing.
  • Mechanical abilities in order to help troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate any issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Committed to customer service excellence and leading by example.
  • A positive attitude in the workplace is required.
  • Ability to adhere to all human resources, operational and food and health safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining daily cross-dock; switching trailers to each location
  • Ensure each load is safely put in place and secured with chains, rapes, and slings.
  • Monitor and maintain all equipment and trailers including fueling, cleaning, and reporting all issues.
  • Ensure reefers are operational including: running, fueled, and cleaned
  • Complete daily yard checks and daily reports
  • Perform daily vehicle inspection such as brakes, lights, tires, and oil
  • Reporting any damage, accidents, or incidents with equipment
  • Fuel and clean trailers and any loaded trailers in yards
  • Communicating efficiently with Shipping and Receiving teams.
