About The Position

Natorp Nursery is a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated business with over 110 years of experience, known for producing high-quality plant material at scale. Our extensive growing facility cultivates a full range of plant varieties, including trees, perennials, annuals, and shrubs. We serve a diverse customer base, supplying plants to independent garden centers, wholesale companies, municipalities, landscape professionals, and homeowners through our retail nursery outlet. Shrubs are a vital and growing category within our operation. As part of our continued expansion, we are increasing our shrub production area by an additional 7 acres. We take pride in delivering consistently high-quality shrubs and seek a motivated, detail-oriented individual to support this important segment of our business. This role supports the Head Grower in overseeing shrub production. The ideal candidate is ambitious, focused, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Requirements

Minimum of 2-3 years in a production nursery setting
Experience working with shrubs
Ability to learn and follow established processes
Strong organizational and time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize work independently

Willingness to work weekends as needed

Responsibilities

Assist in overseeing all shrub production operations
Execute cultural practices such as pruning, spacing, fertilizing, and irrigation
Monitor plant development, health, and pest pressure
Ensure plants meet quality standards and are sale-ready
Collaboration with the Head Grower
Support and help supervise team members in daily, weekly, and monthly tasks
