About The Position

The Shred Specialist receives, segregates, and loads wastepaper into a paper shredder and performs other warehouse support duties. As part of the local operations team, the specialist coordinates daily shredding volume, ensures services are completed, and helps prepare the team for the next day. The role requires contributing to a safe and harmonious work environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of forklift truck driving and maintenance.
• Excellent physical ability, including the ability to repeatedly lift at least 75 pounds over the course of the day.
• Ability to withstand the physically strenuous demands of lifting, pulling, and managing heavy equipment and objects.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Six months of forklift driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with unloading and staging shredded paper, media, and products from VRC trucks at the assigned branch.
• Operate and maintain shredding and baling machinery at the branch.
• Ensure paper bales are staged or loaded for shipment as required.
• Perform shredding operations supporting VRC's off-site shredding program.
• Operate forklifts and perform preventative forklift maintenance as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area in accordance with VRC and NAID standards.
• Perform weekly, monthly, and yearly preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain a responsible approach to security and safety matters related to operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
