Shopper Insights & Analytics Manager – Walmart

The Clorox CompanyBentonville, AR
$109,400 - $258,500Hybrid

About The Position

Retail is changing faster than ever. The lines between physical and digital shopping continue to blur as shoppers move seamlessly between stores, apps, social platforms, retail media, and ecommerce. Winning today requires more than reporting what happened—it requires understanding why shoppers behave the way they do and translating those insights into actions that drive growth. We're looking for a curious, analytical, and forward-thinking Shopper Insights & Analytics Manager to help shape the future of the Walmart business at Clorox. This role sits at the intersection of shopper insights, advanced analytics, customer strategy, and digital commerce. You'll bring together multiple sources of data—from shopper behavior and syndicated insights to digital commerce and retailer analytics—to uncover meaningful opportunities that influence decisions across Sales, Category Leadership, Marketing, and our Walmart customer team. If you enjoy solving complex business challenges, connecting data to human behavior, and telling compelling stories that inspire action, this role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on one of Clorox's most important retail partnerships.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Shopper Insights, Consumer Insights, Category Management, Analytics, Customer Insights, or related fields.
  • Experience working with large retailers, with Walmart experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong foundation in both consumer/shopper research and advanced business analytics.
  • Experience presenting insights and recommendations directly to retail customers and senior business leaders.
  • Demonstrated success influencing commercial decisions through insight-driven storytelling.
  • Ability to frame business questions, develop learning plans, test hypotheses, and translate findings into action.
  • Deep understanding of consumer and shopper research methodologies, including quantitative, qualitative, syndicated, and behavioral data.
  • Experience developing shopper, category, and path-to-purchase insights that influence commercial strategy.
  • Identify and anticipate emerging shopper behaviors, macro trends, and future growth opportunities before they become obvious in the business.
  • Experience synthesizing multiple data sources into clear, actionable growth-driving recommendations.
  • Strong storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex analyses for senior leaders and retailer partners.
  • Syndicated data (Circana, NielsenIQ, Numerator).
  • Walmart Scintilla preferred (or demonstrated ability to quickly learn retailer-specific analytics platforms).
  • Digital commerce, omnichannel and retail media analytics.
  • Experience leveraging Kantar, Mintel, CRC or other retailer and trend sources.
  • Experience designing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative consumer and shopper research.
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau and advanced Excel skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Curious, proactive, and energized by solving difficult business problems.
  • Equal parts analytical thinker and storyteller.
  • Passionate about understanding people—not just data.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and finding opportunities where others see complexity.
  • Excited by technology, AI, and the future of shopper insights.
  • Motivated by creating measurable business impact through better decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop forward-looking shopper and category point of views that help Clorox and Walmart anticipate where shoppers, categories, and retail are headed—not just where they've been.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Walmart shoppers by uncovering the behaviors, motivations, missions, and trends that influence purchase decisions across physical and digital commerce.
  • Influence decisions across category strategy, assortment, pricing, innovation, merchandising, digital commerce, and retailer engagement.
  • Integrate shopper research, syndicated data, retailer analytics, digital commerce insights, and market intelligence into clear business recommendations.
  • Identify growth opportunities across categories, brands, shopping missions, and occasions through advanced analytics and consumer understanding.
  • Lead category and shopper learning plans that answer critical business questions and influence commercial strategy.
  • Create compelling, insight-led stories that simplify complex information and inspire action with internal leaders and Walmart partners.
  • Partner closely with Category Leadership, Sales, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Retail Media, and Data & Analytics teams to solve business challenges.
  • Leverage emerging capabilities—including AI-enabled analytics—to accelerate insight generation and improve decision making.
  • Help shape omnichannel strategies by understanding how shoppers move across stores, Walmart.com, pickup, delivery, and digital touchpoints.
  • Directly shaping critical retailer engagements including line reviews, Joint Business Planning (JBP), assortment discussions, innovation sell-in, and strategic customer meetings.

  • Robust health plans
  • Market-leading 401(k) program with a company match
  • Flexible time off benefits (including half-day summer Fridays depending on location)
