About The Position

As a Suppression Shop Technician at Encore, you will be a key part of keeping our field teams and customers ready and protected. You will service, repair, and maintain portable fire equipment and extinguishers while helping keep the shop and materials organized, stocked, and ready for the next job. This is a hands-on warehouse and shop-based role that is a great fit for someone who likes working with tools, enjoys staying organized, and wants a path into the fire protection trade. Over time, this position can open doors to field technician roles or other opportunities within operations, with training and mentorship provided along the way.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow in the trade
  • A team-first attitude and willingness to jump in and help wherever needed in the shop
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow technical and safety instructions
  • Comfort using basic hand tools and common shop or warehouse equipment
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to update simple spreadsheets or inventory lists
  • Solid attention to detail when labeling, stocking, and servicing equipment
  • Comfort being on your feet for most of the day and handling materials as part of normal work

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED, with technical or industry related experience preferred.
  • One to three years of experience in a warehouse, shop, mechanical, or service environment.
  • Hands-on experience with portable fire extinguishers or other life safety equipment.
  • Familiarity with basic safety standards in a shop or warehouse setting.
  • Experience using Excel or other tools to track parts, equipment, or inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Service, repair, and maintain portable fire equipment and fire extinguishers.
  • Learn and follow fire suppression testing and inspection procedures from experienced team members.
  • Spot issues where equipment is not working properly or not meeting current requirements and notify the right person on the team.
  • Maintain and update basic inventory records using tools such as Microsoft Excel or other digital systems.
  • Pull, prepare, and organize orders for delivery to job sites so field technicians have what they need.
  • Receive, verify, stage, and stock incoming materials in the correct locations.
  • Keep the shop and warehouse clean, organized, secure, and safe at all times.
  • Assist with deliveries or loading and unloading vehicles as needed.
  • Support the suppression repair team with additional shop and warehouse tasks as assigned.
