About The Position

HiFyve is hiring a Shop Technician in Chester, Virginia. This full-time, shop-based role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy construction and earthmoving equipment at a dealership. The technician works on customer-owned equipment and is expected to complete repairs safely, accurately, and on time. The position calls for strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical skills and a commitment to high-quality workmanship. Technician level classification is based on experience and competency.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Associate degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology, or four years of apprenticeship experience.
Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Strong communication and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience repairing heavy construction or agricultural equipment.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair heavy equipment and component systems in a shop environment.
Develop repair plans, including the sequence of work and the tooling and parts required.
Perform mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical repairs on equipment.
Conduct quality assurance testing after repairs to ensure proper operation.
Complete work orders, service reports, and parts orders accurately and on time.
Retrieve and return parts and materials using internal parts ordering systems.
Operate shop equipment, including overhead cranes, lifts, and diagnostic tools.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop work area.
Communicate repair status and updates to service management.
Follow company safety policies and procedures.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
