About The Position

A-Gas is an environmental services company focused on protecting and enhancing the environment by reducing and preventing the release of global warming gases. Rapid Recovery, the company's service division, is a leading provider of refrigerant recovery services for the HVAC, refrigeration, demolition, and marine industries. A-Gas utilizes industry-leading technologies in recovery, reclamation, and gas processing to develop innovative environmental solutions. The company is seeking a dependable Shop Technician to support the local team and customers with cylinder preparation and refrigerant gas consolidation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull cylinders that may weigh up to and more than 75 pounds
  • Mechanical ability
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must have the ability to obtain an EPA 608 License within 14 days of employment
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Reading, writing, and math skills

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the HVAC industry
  • Experience handling Refrigerant/Recovery of HVAC gases

Responsibilities

  • Manage the cylinder fleet for the shop location, including inbound and outbound cylinders.
  • Consolidate refrigerant between cylinders.
  • Perform inventory management and track cylinders using cylinder management software.
  • Implement and manage the 'Ready for pickup' process to prepare cylinders for return to the reclamation facility.
  • Receive cylinders from technicians, analyze refrigerant type, and manage/perform the consolidation process.
  • Operate electric pallet jack and liftgate.
  • Assist technicians with loading and off-loading work trucks.
  • Manage parts inventory.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform general maintenance on recovery equipment.
  • Handle various technical duties related to the refrigerant workflow process.
  • Operate assigned equipment safely.
  • Adhere to all EPA regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
